At the Staaten
Please join us for the annual Welcome Back picnic on Saturday, September 18th from 12 noon to 4 pm. The cost is $5 for adults and $1 for children. We are also requesting everyone being either a side dish, salad and dessert. We will supply the hamburgers and hot dogs. Please sign-up in the church narthex so we can plan on how much to buy. There will be games and crafts for the children. If you have any questions, please contact the church office or the Membership Committee.
Rev. Boling's sermon, Recalculating, is based on the Parable of the Dishonest Manager, from Luke 16:1-13, and also on her experience of driving with a GPS.
This year's Mission Sunday coincides with Love Your Neighbor and Preach Out Against Hate weekend on Staten Island. Rev. Boling's sermon, Zero Tolerance for Intolerance, will explore the mandate in 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 to be minsters of reconciliation. We will also recognize the many volunteers who make possible the vibrant outreach programs of our church.
