Is it possible for there to be a church that feels like home after just one or two visits, but that holds a lifetime of possibilities for growth in the Christian faith? Can there be a church small enough for people to know each other by name, but large enough to make a real difference in the community? Is there a church that places as much emphasis on how people live their lives as it does on what they say they believe?
Yes, yes, and yes. In the short while that I have served the Olivet Presbyterian Church, I have found the congregation to be all of the above, and more.
Sunday morning worship is at the heart of church life. Church School, Youth Group and Adult Education classes relate biblical knowledge to everyday living. Christ’s love is shared in the broader community through coordinated efforts to provide food and shelter to the poor, the homeless and those living with HIV/AIDS.
Olivet welcomes new believers, lifelong Christians, and seekers from all backgrounds and walks of life. We are Presbyterian, ecumenical, multi-cultural, intergenerational, progressive, and Christ-centered. Come and see what God is doing here.
In Christ’s Service,
